The couple's divorce was publicized on Friday, February 9, via the "TMZ" portal. They split amicably, dividing their property according to a prenuptial agreement they created earlier. As a result, each former spouse retained the wealth they amassed individually throughout their seven-year relationship. Both agreed to forego any alimony.

Sofía Vergara discusses reasons for separation: "It's not for me anymore"

News of the actors' separation had been circulating for several months. Following their announcement, and while the divorce proceedings were underway, both parties promptly found companionship elsewhere. Vergara began dating Dr. Justin Saliman.

During a recent interview, Vergara revealed what led to the decision to divorce. "My marriage ended because my husband was younger. He wanted to have children, and I didn't want to be an older mom," she said during her conversation with "El País". Worth noting is that the couple is only separated by four years: Manganiello is 47, and Vergara is 51. However, their expectations were notably different.

"I think it's unfair to the child. I respect those who choose it, but it's not for me anymore. I had a son at 19, who is now 32 years old, and I am ready to be a grandma, not a mom," she added.

The son she refers to is Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll, born in 1992, a result of Vergara's relationship with Joe Gonzalez. This relationship began when she was 18 and ended a year later. In July 2012, the actress announced her engagement to American entrepreneur Nick Loeb, but it was dissolved less than two years later. In November 2015, she married Joe Manganiello and their marriage lasted just under nine years.

Sofía Vergara is the lead actress in one of Netflix's most recent successes. The six-episode series "Griselda" has been available on the platform since January 25.
