One might ask, what's the problem with wearing socks to bed? They do, after all, keep our feet warm. Those with low blood circulation, often experiencing a quicker cooling of the limbs, vouch for sleeping in socks and claim it allows for a more comfortable night's sleep and fewer awakenings.
Contrary to popular belief, however, doctors maintain a significantly different viewpoint. Experts advise that wearing certain types of socks to bed might indeed negatively impact our health. So, which ones are appropriate?

Potential downsides of sleeping in socks
Sleeping in low-quality socks, especially ones made from polyester or similar synthetic materials may even prompt fungal infections of the feet and nails. Symptoms include pain, swelling around the nail, discoloration, a thickened and brittle nail plate, and an unpleasant odor.
