Sizzle and Spice: How to Perfect Juicy Grilled Wings This Season

As the grilling season gently gains momentum, the aromas of cooking meat permeate home gardens and plots. This year, I've expanded my usual repertoire of sausages, blood sausage, and pork neck by including chicken wings marinated in a unique blend.
Many hesitate to grill wings, worrying they might turn out dry and flavorless. Yet, these small meat morsels can transform into a succulent delicacy with the right marinade. Imagine wings that are juicy, tender, and infused with a balance of sweetness and spice - achieving this perfection doesn't require intricate preparations.
Delectable Grilled Wings
Since discovering this mouthwatering marinade, it's become the only way I prepare wings. The honey, mustard, and paprika mix have won over my entire family. Although marinating overnight is ideal, even a few hours can yield delicious results.
I blend dried, powdered versions of smoked, hot, and sweet paprika in the marinade. The smoky paprika, in particular, lends a unique flavor that complements the grilling perfectly. This versatile marinade works beautifully with pork neck, ribs, or chicken breast.
Ingredients:
- 2.2 pounds of chicken wings,
- 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika,
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika,
- half a teaspoon of hot paprika,
- 1 tablespoon of ketchup,
- 1 tablespoon of honey,
- 1 teaspoon of hot mustard,
- 1 teaspoon of salt.
Preparation Method:
- Mix ketchup, mustard, honey, salt, sweet, smoked, and hot paprika in a bowl.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated with the marinade. While I prefer to trim off the wingtips, this step is optional.
- Marinate the wings in the refrigerator for a few hours, though leaving them overnight is preferable for deeper flavors and juicier results.
- Once marinated, arrange the wings on a grilling tray.
- Grill for approximately 20 minutes, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Baste the wings with the remaining marinade while they grill for extra flavor and moisture. I often accompany the finished wings with a light salad for a balanced meal. Bon appétit!
