Summer is a time for carefree fun and ubiquitous insects. The sound of a buzzing fly or mosquito can be very annoying. To avoid their visit, prepare this simple homemade spray.

When temperatures start to soar, insects come to life. In the apartment, you will find both fruit flies and mosquitoes, which leave behind itchy bumps.

You can find many products in stores and drugstores that repel insects. Unfortunately, they are not the cheapest. If you want to save some money, prepare a homemade spray against flies and mosquitoes and spray it on the window frames.

Mosquitoes are a real nuisance. Their peak activity is at the end of June and the beginning of July. These insects can significantly disrupt daily life, especially at night. The same problem applies to flies, which often appear in our homes during the summer.

You can find many fly and mosquito repellents in stores and supermarkets. Although they are effective, they are not harmless to health. They should not be used when there are pets or small children in the house.

However, there is another equally effective but safer solution. Both flies and mosquitoes are very sensitive to smells. Some attract them, while others repel them. Insects cannot stand the smell of cinnamon. It's worth using it to prepare a homemade mosquito repellent.

Mix with water and spray the windows. Insects won't even come close

Cinnamon releases a very intense smell that repels flies, mosquitoes, and ants. You can use both essential oil and powdered cinnamon. The best is Ceylon cinnamon. You can find it in most supermarkets and organic food stores.

How to prepare a homemade mosquito-repellent spray? Fill a glass with water, add a tablespoon of ground cinnamon, and mix well. Wait 10 minutes, then strain the solution through cheesecloth and pour it into an empty spray bottle. Spray it on the window frames and sills. Repeat the process every two days, and the insects won't even come close.
