Lack of energy and fatigue are primary problems

After consuming sugar, blood glucose levels spike, triggering the pancreas to release insulin. Insulin is responsible for transporting glucose to cells, converting it into energy. Unfortunately, we feel fatigued and lack energy after the blood sugar drops. It's a very bothersome problem.

Constant craving for something sweet won't go away on its own

Such a sudden rise and fall in energy leads to a renewed craving for sweets. This phenomenon can be recognized immediately and is not easy to escape. This is referred to as the sugar cycle, where the body demands another dose of sugar to regain energy quickly.

A body accustomed to frequent sugar consumption has a much higher demand for this ingredient than a body that receives it in moderate amounts. Therefore, reducing the amount of sugar supplied to the body is necessary, even if gradually.

Skin problems can be easily resolved

Excessive sugar intake causes other problems. It also affects the skin's condition, leading to acne, uneven skin tone, and other skin issues. Sugar can disrupt hormonal balance and cause inflammation, directly affecting skin conditions.

Excessive sugar intake causes wounds on the skin to heal much slower. Additionally, the skin becomes noticeably drier and often itchy.

Reducing sugar consumption often brings visible improvements in skin appearance. Changes are visible even after a few weeks.

How much sugar should we eat?

The World Health Organization recommends consuming no more than 1.8 ounces of sugar per day. However, many consume significantly more, as sugar is found in sweets and products like processed meats. Therefore, we should check the sugar content before consuming a meal.

Symptoms such as constant cravings for sweets, lack of energy, and skin problems can be warnings that we are consuming too much sugar. Recognizing these signs and making dietary changes, including products rich in protein and fiber, can positively affect health and well-being. Remembering a balanced nutrition approach and mindful food selection is essential. Sugar in appropriate amounts is necessary for the proper functioning of the body.
