Every year, the south of Siberia faces floods due to the spring thaw. But this year, the situation is notably harsher, necessitating the evacuation of hundreds.

The waters of the Ob River valley, a critical watercourse in this region, submerged so many homes that authorities were compelled to initiate evacuations.

Belsat reports that a significant rise in water levels led to the declaration of a state of emergency, and 127 homes in 37 communities were inundated.

Affected areas include the cities of Kamień on the Ob, Sławgorod, and the regions surrounding Burła, Blagoveshchensk, and Novoaltaysk.
Videos show homes engulfed by water and roads torn apart, with firefighters assisting residents in evacuating their pets.
