Should you eat this part of the chicken? Lot of people say it's really unhealthy

Culinary myths have been with us since the dawn of time. They are all passed down from generation to generation, which is why they stick with us so strongly. For example, we believe that adding scrambled eggs to milk will make them fluffy, and that alcohol will surely evaporate during heat treatment. There's also an interesting myth circulating about chicken.

Every day, we encounter various myths about everyday life. Grandmothers often repeated to us that pasta should be rinsed with cold water, and salt will speed up the boiling of water. The list of such superstitions is very long and nearly covers every known food product to us.

The chicken skin sparks many controversies. Some people instantly throw it away, while others enjoy it without any reservations. Many people are of the opinion that chicken with skin is harmful and they need to get rid of that part. It is a common belief that skin is bad for health. But are they right? Let's take a closer look at this popular myth and try to debunk it.

Is chicken with skin harmful? Many people believe so

What about the chicken skin? Is it harmful or healthy? Some think that you should discard it, even after baking or boiling. After all, it is very fatty and caloric, so it's not suitable for consumption. Turns out, it's not as terrible as they paint. The chicken, or rather the part of the chicken, which is shrouded with a dark history, has very healthy properties.

It contains omega-6 fatty acids, which are extremely important for our health and proper functioning. They have a great effect on the heart and its work. Thanks to it, vitamins A, D, E and K are better absorbed. Let's debunk another myth right away: chicken skin is not that caloric, it only has about 50 kcal. What's more, it's the part most soaked in our marinade and spices. By removing the skin, we deprive ourselves of the best tasting and crunchiest part.
