Some women opt to do it at home, while others regularly visit a manicurist. Regardless of whether we employ the services of professionals or do the hybrid manicure ourselves, we should adhere to certain guidelines to maintain healthy and strong nails.

How does one perform a hybrid manicure at home?

To carry out a hybrid manicure, you'll need a UV lamp, hybrid varnishes, and a nail file. Beyond simply removing the old color from the nails, it's also important to prepare them properly for the next steps. Additionally, you should trim the cuticles, shape the nails, and matte the nail plate as much as possible.

Specialists also recommend degreasing the nails with a special solution before applying the base. Only then should you proceed with the actual manicure.

Firstly, we apply the base that is then cured in a UV lamp. Subsequently, we paint the plate with the selected varnish, and after hardening it in the device, we apply a top coat, which also bonds under the influence of ultraviolet light.

Should we take breaks from hybrid manicures?

There are some concerns about the safety of a hybrid manicure. It's well-known that processing the nail with a nail file or a milling machine is quite aggressive. Coupled with the use of a UV lamp, it can adversely affect the health of the nail plate. Unfortunately, this treatment can often result in thin and brittle nails.

Some experts advise allowing the nails a two-week recovery period after three or four weeks of having a hybrid manicure. However, there are diverse viewpoints on this matter.

If the nail plate is in good condition and the manicure is consistently done by a professional who avoids over-filing, ensuring that the nail plate remains healthy at all times, then there is absolutely no need for break

However, the expert stresses that should there be any concern about the appearance of our nails, we should immediately press pause on using the UV lamp for nail styling.
