Mass thefts occurred, among others, in stores in Central City in Philadelphia. However, as reported by "The Philadelphia Inquirer", they extended much further. The police arrived at the scene and managed to catch at least 20 people fleeing with the loot.

The police were catching iPhones

As reported by The Star service, among the stores attacked were Apple and Lululemon outlets, among others. Masked teenagers, who were fleeing from the police, were dropping hastily-grabbed devices, including iPhones and iPods. The officers were not only catching the criminals, but also recovering stolen equipment lying on the street.

Meanwhile, the commotion in the Lululemon store was recorded and the video was shared on social media. It shows masked people, dressed in hooded sweatshirts, racing out of the store trying to escape the police. The officers are trying to catch the thieves crowding the street. The recording shows how the police manage to catch a few people, knocking them to the sidewalk.

Mass robberies and a protest against a police officer

On the same day in Philadelphia, there was a peaceful protest related to the dismissal of charges against a police officer who shot driver Eddie Irizarry. Riots were supposed to start right after the demonstration ended. However, the police rule out any connections between the two events.

As reported by "The Philadelphia Inquirer", citing the police, a group of young people gathered through social media, and others followed them.
