If you've been following my articles for a while, you'll know that I have a huge affinity for sweets. Hence, when I saw a video of an American testing out Polish sweets, I simply had to watch it.

I didn't expect such a reaction. To me, it seemed the best items in her package weren't appreciated in the way they deserved. Taste, however, is subjective.

American trying Polish sweets

Grace Mary Williams, a well-subscribed social media influencer with nearly 150,000 followers, frequently shares her product tests. In one of her videos, she tries Polish sweets. How did her experiment go? Did she discover a new favorite, or was she indecisive?

Before discussing her reaction to Polish sweets, it's worth revealing exactly what the young American sampled. She tried an array of sweets including gingerbread, delicacies, sesame snacks, Prince Polo bars, Familijne strawberry wafers, and mint caramels.

Grace's take on Polish sweets

She began with the traditional chocolate-covered gingerbread with a plum filling. She found the heart-shaped sweet charming but wasn't quite taken with the gingerbread, largely due to her distaste for fruit-filled sweets.

Grace favored the Prince Polo bar more. When it came to the strawberry wafers, she appreciated their enticing aroma. She then tried delicacies, a timeless favorite in our country. To the surprise of many Poles, she didn't enjoy the texture of this treat, including the jelly. This particular feature usually draws the most attention among these iconic cookies.

The influencer also sampled sesame snacks during her taste test. She found them not overly sweet and quite delicious. The last item she tried was mint caramels, which took her by surprise, yet in an agreeable manner.

Lastly, beneath Grace's post, many comments highlighted a variety of Polish sweets that should've made it to her tasting list. Ptasie Mleczko and Michałki candies were frequently mentioned. Many, like myself, were puzzled by Grace's aversion to the flavor of the delicacy. What are your thoughts? Which of these sweets would you like to try?
