Shark attack claims life of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star

Tamayo Perry has died. The lifeguard and actor known, among others, from "Pirates of the Caribbean" has died at just 49 years old. Sky News reports that on Sunday, he was surfing near Oahu in Hawaii. Before 1 PM Eastern Time, rescuers, alerted by a witness, rushed to help.

The Honolulu Department of Emergency Services reports that Perry was brought to shore by a jet ski, but rescuers were unable to save his life. He died from injuries sustained in the shark attack.

After Perry's death, a warning about the potential danger of another attack was issued. The Daily Star reports that he was found near Malaekahana Beach in the vicinity of Kahuku. More than one shark bite was reported on his body.

Perry was not only an actor but also a professional surfer. He appeared in productions such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," and "Blue Crush". He started working as a lifeguard in 2016. The Mayor of Honolulu, Rick Blangiardi, quoted by Daily Star, stated that Tamayo was highly respected, and his death is a huge loss.
