Shakira accused for the second time of not paying taxes. We're talking an astronomical amount
Shakira is considered one of the richest singers in the industry. Thus, it is surprising that the vocalist has once again been accused of not paying a portion of her taxes. The Spanish administration has taken an interest in the matter.

Recently, Shakira has had no shortage of excitement. A year ago, the singer went through a high-profile breakup with Gerard Pique, a topic she has revisited many times in her songs. The track in which she raps about trading a Rolex for a Casio will probably always be the anthem of broken-hearted women.
To start her life anew, the star moved to the USA with her sons. Instead of the celebrity-loved California, she chose the equally sunny Florida. However, her past from Spain still haunts the singer. And it's not about her ex-partner. Shakira has been accused of tax fraud for the second time.
According to the newspaper "El Mundo", prosecutors have determined that the singer did not pay 6.7 million euros in taxes on her income for 2018. She managed to hide this (for a while) thanks to so-called tax havens. It's worth remembering that the star's fortune is currently valued at 300 million dollars.
From the accusation submitted this week, it appears that Shakira "did not declare income and did not deduct expenses that were irrelevant." She managed to reduce the amount owing to the State Tax Administration from income tax on individuals in this way.
Tax crimes of the stars
Shakira's lawyers have already issued a statement to the editors of "Page Six". As can be read in it, the star has not received any notification of a lawsuit concerning 2018 tax returns at her official address in Miami. Her staff are currently preparing for a trial concerning the fiscal years 2012–2014, which will begin on November 20.
Shakira is not the only star who has been accused of such tax shenanigans. A few years ago, Lionel Messi, among others, faced similar allegations. In the 80s, Sophia Loren herself was accused of tax evasion.
