Sex is an essential element of a relationship, regardless of the age of the individuals involved. For this reason, it’s worth paying attention to matters of intimacy and sexuality to ensure they remain in a relationship for as long as possible. The 77-year-old tantric sex expert shared one piece of advice that may be helpful for people over 70.

How to maintain intimacy after age 70?

Stella Ralfini, a 77-year-old expert in tantric sex, noted in an interview with the British portal Daily Mail that a good sex life is important at any age.

"It's one of the things that keeps me feeling young. It's still a wonderful feeling to know you're desirable," she said.

Re-education regarding sex and intimacy is essential in this context. "It's about playfulness and other ways of being able to orgasm that's comfortable for both," she explained.

She revealed that one of the activities that help maintain intimacy in a relationship—even after age 70—is cuddling naked in bed. She also highlighted one issue.

"Men are quite attached to what's in their trousers but they don't quite understand enough foreplay. (…) Older men on Viagra doesn't work for older women the last thing she wants is to be thrust at for hours," Stella Ralfini admitted in an interview with Daily Mail.

Mature age and sex

According to The New Ageing Index, a study conducted by Home Instead on over 1,000 British adults, mature age does not slow things down in the bedroom. Up to 53% of respondents over age 75 want to remain sexually active. The same goes for people between ages 66 and 74. 51% said they would not give up their bedroom activities. Among younger individuals, the percentage was even higher.

Interestingly, people over age 50 are much more likely to have sex than to go on dates, as dating is not as important to them. Sex helps them maintain their well-being and mental health in mature age.
