Several injured in knife attack at Gare de Lyon station in Paris, suspect detained

The AFP reports that the attack took place on Saturday around 2 AM Eastern Time at the Gare de Lyon station in Paris. Three individuals have been injured: two received minor injuries, and one is now in critical condition and has been admitted to the hospital.

The attacker was apprehended by the police, and the motive behind the attack is currently under investigation.

Suspect detained by police

French television station BFM TV reports that the attacker was identified by the police using an Italian driver's license.

The suspect did not shout any (religious) slogans during the attack, according to a police source reported by AFP.

This incident caused some disruption to the train service on select routes.
