Fall has arrived, and with it, a sudden drop in temperature. It's a good time to set your windows to winter mode. This will instantly make your home warmer. How do you do it? Discover this simple trick.

Despite the sunny weather, the temperature is starting to gradually drop. It’s getting colder in the apartments, and it’s still several days until the heating season starts. Warm sweaters or thick socks may not be enough. Fortunately, there is another way to avoid freezing at home. It involves changing the window mode from summer to winter. We explain how to do it.

What is the difference between summer and winter mode?

Plastic windows are now standard. Most of them are equipped with a special function that allows temperature control in the apartment. After opening the window, you can notice characteristic pegs on the frame, also known as cams. These enable the window mode to be switched to summer or winter.

The two modes are significantly different. Summer mode reduces the pressure on the window frame, which improves air circulation in the room. In contrast, winter mode increases the pressure, which prevents cold air from flowing in from the outside. This is a very simple way to make the apartment much warmer.

How to change the mode in the windows?

Adjusting the windows is very simple. Equip yourself with an Allen key or pliers. Open the window. Look at the side of the frame. You will definitely notice one, two, or even three projections. If the main indicator points to 3:00, it's a sign that the windows are in summer mode. To change it, take the selected tool and then turn the peg 90 degrees.

Close the window and put your hand on the frame. If you don’t feel any air, it means the windows have been set to winter mode. Changing the mode minimizes heat loss. This lowers the heating bills, which is especially important in the upcoming heating season.
