A video has surfaced online showing the Sea Baby drone launching volley fires at Russian ships," reports the Ukrainian Front. We recall that this is the same unit that the Ukrainian army previously utilized to strike the Crimean bridge.

In the newly released recording, it is clear that the marine drone is furnished with a weapon capable of volley fire. The Ukrainian Front reveals that the Sea Baby drone seen in the video is targeting Russian ships. However, the timeline of the recording remains uncertain. Let's delve deeper into what is currently known about this weapon posing a significant threat to Russia's military forces, particularly in the Black Sea.

The Ukrainian surface drone, Sea Baby

The past few months have established that for Ukrainian troops, gaining the upper hand, not only in ground combat but also in the Black Sea, is paramount. Subsequently, the defense army announced the Magura V5 marine UAV and the aforementioned Sea Baby.

Regarding the latter, it is revealed that it now possesses a system enabling volley mode rocket fire. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has been developing drones since 2022, with production occurring in undisclosed, secret underground factories. Civilian engineers and IT specialists support the SBU for this project, as journalist Przemysław Juraszek from Virtual Poland revealed.

As the latest unmanned surface vehicles series model, the Sea Baby drone can transport up to 1873.9 lbs of explosive material; this significant technological advancement dwarfs previous models that accommodated warheads weighing 441 to 881.8 lbs. Sporting an aesthetic resemblance to a motorboat, the Sea Baby is coated in special camouflage paint using two colors to create a more minor, discreet appearance, further enhancing its concealment, particularly during nighttime.

Additionally, the Sea Baby drones are equipped with antennas essential for communication. The UAV is navigated using AR goggles—an identical method for controlling FPV drones.
