Scout Willis steps into spotlight, embracing acting career
Bruce Willis's daughter, Scout, shared significant news about her life by posting a personal video with her father. The 33-year-old officially announced that she is following in the footsteps of her famous parents and becoming an actress.
Scout Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, shared a series of photos and videos from the past few weeks on Instagram. Among them was a selfie wearing a cap with the word "ACTOR," a screenshot from her Spotify Wrapped, a photo of her mother, known from the film "The Substance," as well as a box of yarn and memes.
The most moving element was a personal moment with her father, Bruce Willis, star of "Die Hard." The video shows father and daughter embracing emotionally. Since his diagnosis in February last year, Willis has rarely appeared in public. The actor suffers from frontotemporal dementia (FTD). He retired from the profession due to aphasia—a disorder affecting speech and language abilities.
In the caption to the montage, Scout casually wrote: "Some December, and a formal announcement that I’m an actor now fyi," revealing that she is officially starting her acting career, following in the footsteps of her well-known parents.
The video stirred emotions among fans. One person wrote: "Your whole family is so wonderful, I'm now a fan of each of you." Another user commented with an emotional emoji: "That hug with dad."
New information about Willis's illness from his ex-wife
Demi Moore, Scout's mother, provided new information this month about her former husband's health status in a conversation with CNN. "Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment," she said. "And I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely: It's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at. And from that place, there is such loving and joy," she added.
"It’s very difficult and not what I would wish upon anyone, and there is great loss – but there’s also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it," the actress continued. In a statement confirming the diagnosis, the family called FTD a "cruel disease" and emphasized that "it is the most common form of dementia."
