The showcased race car helped Schumacher achieve many successes on the track. The German champion claimed five victories, took second place three times, secured pole position three times, and set the fastest lap time four times in this car. The machine with chassis number 254 was also the last one in which Schumacher drove for Ferrari just before he first retired from racing.
There is more evidence testifying to the uniqueness of this example. The 248 model was the first Ferrari V8 in Formula 1 since 1964, and the 2.4-liter engine placed just behind the driver generated between 730 and 785 HP depending on the configuration.
The current owner has had the race car since December 2007. A Ferrari Classiche certificate has confirmed the vehicle's authenticity. RM Sotheby's does not disclose the starting bid. However, it is known that this unique item will go up for auction on November 14th at Eastern Time.
