Savory pizza cupcakes: The perfect party snack recipe
Although muffins and cupcakes are primarily associated with sweet pastries, this savory version will steal more than just one heart. They work great as a party snack or a warm dinner for loved ones.
I don't know anyone who doesn't like pizza. Instead of arguing whether we should make pizza Italian-style today or if pineapple really isn’t such a bad topping, I turn to a simple recipe for pizza cupcakes. Their preparation is really quick, and they look and taste as if I must have spent a lot of time in the kitchen.
Pizza cupcakes - a party snack idea
The base for the cupcakes is a pizza crust, which can be found in most stores or made at home according to a trusted recipe. The first option saves a lot of time as you just need to combine it with the right toppings and bake it. My secret is spreading the dough with parsley-garlic butter. This makes the cupcakes incredibly aromatic and delicate in taste after baking.
Ingredients:
- 1 pizza crust
- 3.5 oz shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 mozzarella ball in brine
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 bunch fresh parsley
- 5 tablespoons pizza sauce
Preparation method:
Step 1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and pour it into a small bowl. Add chopped fresh parsley and garlic pressed through a garlic press and mix.
Step 2. Fill the bottom of the cupcake molds with shredded mozzarella cheese. Then, cover the cheese with a piece of pizza dough.
Step 3. Spread the dough with tomato sauce. Drain the mozzarella ball from the brine and cut it into slices. Place the slices on the sauce and cover with another piece of dough. Then sprinkle some more shredded mozzarella on top. Drizzle the cupcakes with garlic and parsley butter. Put them in the oven preheated to 392°F and bake for 15 minutes.
Step 4. Transfer the baked cupcakes to a plate and garnish with fresh basil. They taste best warm but also make a great cold snack. They are irresistible, so I recommend preparing a double portion right away for larger gatherings. Enjoy!
