Crisp savory pastries: my recent culinary revelation!
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 1 cup of milk,
- 1 cup of water,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 0.28 ounce of dry yeast,
- ½ teaspoon of salt,
- 6.2 cups of cake flour.
Filling:
- 0.66 pounds of ground turkey meat,
- 2.1 ounces of chopped tomatoes,
- 1 small red onion,
- 3 cloves of garlic,
- ¼ cup of chopped parsley,
- 1.5 teaspoons of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of pepper.
Method:
Step 1: Begin by preparing the yeast dough. Combine all the required ingredients, knead briefly, and then let the dough rest in a warm place for about 1.5 hours.
Step 2: While the dough rests, start preparing the filling for the pastries. Combine the ground turkey, chopped tomatoes, chopped red onion, chopped parsley, peeled and crushed garlic cloves, and seasonings in a large bowl.
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until you get a perfect blend of flavors.
Step 3: After 90 minutes, return to the dough. Transfer it to a kneading board and knead it a little bit more. Then, divide the dough into smaller pieces.
Step 4: Form a small ball from each piece of dough. Arrange them on a lined baking tray. Lightly brush the yeast balls with oil, then use the back of a spoon to create a small well in each pastry.
Step 5: Fill the wells with the prepared filling. Once all the pastries are filled, bake them in the oven for 20 minutes at 356 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 6: The final step for this homemade pastries recipe is to garnish. Drizzle warm pastries with ketchup and sprinkle with fresh parsley right before serving. Bon appetit!
