Savoring smoked mackerel: Budget-friendly gourmet recipes

According to dietitians' recommendations, fish should feature in the diet of Poles much more often, ideally at least twice a week. A healthy serving of unsaturated omega-3 acids, protein, and B vitamins doesn't have to be expensive. Smoked mackerel, available in every store, can be used to prepare a breakfast spread and a delicious dinner dish.

Smoked mackerel is both tasty and economical. Its easy preparation is an additional advantage. Once you split the fish into two halves, the skeleton almost entirely separates from the meat, leaving just a few small bones to remove. Mackerel is most commonly consumed as a sandwich spread or served with bread, but it can also be part of more sophisticated dishes, including main courses. Below are some practical recipes featuring mackerel.
