Foreign media are buzzing about the idea of an unusual wedding ceremony. A proposal is to start organizing ceremonies on one of Sardinia’s beaches. The mayor of the nearby town of San Vero Milis has even supported the initiative. The question is: will there be any takers for such an unconventional wedding? And will the officiant and guests also need to be naked?
In today’s world, the wedding concept has evolved significantly from what older generations knew. Young couples are increasingly making decisions about how to celebrate their love. In the past, many chose church weddings due to the influence of religious family members. Currently, there is a clear shift in this trend. Many engaged couples, for example, opt for humanist or outdoor weddings. But will anyone be interested in organizing a wedding on a nudist beach?
Wedding on a nudist beach
Benas Beach is a cult favorite among nudists. It is a trendy destination for visitors who enjoy this form of relaxation and who eagerly choose the Sardinian beach. Recently, the idea has emerged to start organizing wedding ceremonies there.
According to foreign portals, the Italian authorities have announced that soon, Benas Beach will be open to couples who dream of getting married naked. At this moment, there are no details about the ceremony. Whether the guests and the officiant would also need to be unclothed remains unknown.
Who supports the idea of naked weddings?
The mayor of nearby San Vero Milis voiced his opinion in the discussion: "Benas Beach has been a popular hotspot for nudists for several years. [Their lifestyle] should be respected – so why not? We have this beach, which lends itself brilliantly to naturism. And then we thought, let’s make a beach for weddings. If people want to marry nude, they can," he commented to CNN.
Unfortunately, not everyone supports this progressive trend. The owner of Arbus Adventures, a company that organizes boat tours in the area, vehemently opposes the idea: "I respect the naturists, but the naturists also need to respect those who don’t want to expose themselves," he commented. "It was a mistake to give them that area of the beach as they are in plain sight of so many people who don’t like it"
