Samsung's latest software update integrates Android 14 with the OneUI 6.1 interface, offering an enhanced user experience. This article provides a comprehensive list of smartphones and tablets poised to receive this update, although it's important to note that not all devices will support the Galaxy AI features.

Why Update?

Updating your operating system is always a wise choice, as it enhances security, refreshes the interface, and unlocks the latest features. For Samsung devices, the introduction of Android 14 coupled with the OneUI 6.1 overlay represents a significant advancement. This update first made its appearance with the Galaxy S24 series and is now extending to other models.

The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra were the inaugural devices to showcase this update in January. The rollout is ongoing, with the Galaxy S23 lineup, the Galaxy S23 FE, the fifth generation of Samsung's Galaxy Z foldable, and the Tab S9 series tablets among the first in line for the upgrade. Here’s a detailed list of devices set to receive or already equipped with the OneUI 6.1 update:

- Galaxy S24 series
- Galaxy S23 series, including S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Tab S9 series

It's unsurprising to see Samsung’s latest devices being prioritized for updates. Fortunately, several older models can also shift to the new operating system and benefit from the enhanced OneUI overlay. Essentially, any smartphone that was previously upgradable to Android 14 (initially with OneUI 6.0) is expected to transition to OneUI 6.1 as well. The list encompasses a wide range of models, including:

- Galaxy S22 series, S21 series, including FE models
- Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series (3rd, 4th, and 5th generations)
- Galaxy A and M series, including 5G variations
- Galaxy F series and the rugged Galaxy Xcover Pro models
Highlighting the Galaxy A52 as an exemplar, even devices launched in March 2021 are slated for the latest software update, showcasing Samsung's commitment to long-term support – a practice mirrored by the seven-year support promise for the Galaxy S24 series and paralleled by Google's Pixel devices.
Tablet updates are equally on the horizon:
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE series
- Galaxy Tab S8 series, including the Lite versions

Introducing Galaxy AI

A noteworthy addition in the latest Samsung overlay is the Galaxy AI suite, initially unveiled with the Galaxy S24 series. This array of artificial intelligence-driven features includes capabilities such as summarizing texts, suggesting text compositions, translating phone conversations in real time, and more. However, these advanced functions will be limited to devices capable of harnessing the necessary computing power, including:

- Select Galaxy S, Z series, and Tab S9 series models

This distinction underscores that while not all devices may leverage Galaxy AI due to hardware constraints, Samsung's flagship and latest models are fully equipped to embrace these innovative technologies.
