A salad for the holidays? Of course! Recently, the object of our culinary interest has been a tropical salad with pineapple, grapes, cherries, and mandarins. Such a dish is called ambrosia, and it's for a reason!

But let's get to the point. How does the tropical salad present itself? It's not just sliced and mixed fruits. Oh no, that would be too simple. Ambrosia includes one more secret ingredient: whipped cream. It's hard to find a product that pairs better with sweet fruits, right? And that's what it's all about. The salad turns out delicious and will definitely appeal to the youngest holiday revelers. You can be absolutely sure of that!

Tropical holiday salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of pineapple in juice,
  • 1 can of mandarins in juice,
  • A handful of cocktail cherries,
  • A handful of grapes,
  • A handful of pecans,
  • 3 egg yolks,
  • 3 tablespoons of water,
  • 3 tablespoons of vinegar,
  • ½ teaspoon of salt,
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice,
  • 2 cups of heavy cream

Preparation:

  1. Chill the cream, and then whip it until stiff.
  2. Crack the yolks into a saucepan, add vinegar, water, and salt. Heat until the ingredients form a fairly thick mixture.
  3. Now remove the saucepan from the heat, and when the contents cool, add the whipped cream and mix.
  4. Drain the canned fruits, cut the grapes in half, and chop the pecans.
  5. Transfer all ingredients to a large bowl, add the sauce from the saucepan and lemon juice. Mix and place the bowl in the refrigerator overnight. After this time, your tropical holiday salad will be ready. Enjoy!
