Russia's 'Oreshnik' missile test alerts US, targets Ukraine
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that 30 minutes before launching the medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik," the Russian Federation sent an automatic notification via the Nuclear Risk Reduction Center to the United States. The White House confirmed this information.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the successful test of a new missile named "Oreshnik" by engineers. According to Putin, "there are currently no means to counter such weapons." The missile reaches speeds of approximately 6,700 to 10,000 feet per second.
He added that the new missile targeted Ukrainian military plants in Dnipro, which produce missiles and other types of weaponry. This action was in response to Ukraine using American and British long-range weaponry.
The Kremlin spokesperson reiterated that 30 minutes before the strike, Moscow sent an automatic notification to the United States via the Nuclear Risk Reduction Center.
The White House confirmed this information. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters at a briefing that in recent days, they had been communicating with Ukraine and their closest allies and partners to share this information.
Jean-Pierre emphasized that the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with new weapons packages and work on speeding up their delivery.
The White House declared that Russia bears responsibility for "escalating at every turn" in Ukraine, including involving North Korean troops in warfare. Jean-Pierre added that the United States has warned Moscow against involving "another country in another part of the world."
