Russia's assault on Ukraine escalates: North Korean missiles involved, claims Zelensky's adviser
"As part of its outright genocidal war, the Russian Federation for the first time struck at the territory of Ukraine with missiles received from... North Korea. The masks are completely off," noted Mykhailo Podoliak on platform X.

Podoliak, adviser to Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Russia is no longer concealing its intentions and has ceased to present its invasion of Ukraine as a "denazification" operation.
"Now [Russia] is attacking Ukrainians with missiles received from a state where citizens are tortured in concentration camps for having an unregistered radio, talking to a tourist, watching TV shows," he stressed.
Podoliak posited that, in conjunction with North Korea and Iran, Russia forms an "Axis of Evil". He posed the question: "Will the forces of good, the pro-Ukrainian coalition, be able to form the strongest possible alliance that will put an end to the Axis of Evil of the XXI century?"
Russian bombardment details
On Thursday, John Kirby, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, reported that Russia used several North Korean-supplied missiles in shelling Ukraine on December 30 and January 2. He clarified that Russia received "several" missiles from North Korea, including launchers with a range of about 559 miles.
The impact of those attacks is still under review. The White House anticipates further bombardment involving North Korean missiles.
