A video surfaced on the Telegram channel showing a group of soldiers firing at two Ukrainian soldiers emerging from a dugout, one of whom had raised hands.

Russians showed no mercy

"In the footage, it is visible that the Ukrainian military personnel are making all possible efforts to indicate that they are unarmed and that they surrender, posing no further threat to the Russian army," stated Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's human rights spokesperson.

"Therefore, they should have been immediately taken into custody and granted the status of prisoners of war," he added, expressing optimism that law enforcement and intelligence agencies will be able to identify the individuals involved in this war crime.

"The Russian Federation must be held accountable for every similar execution of surrendering Ukrainian soldiers. Unfortunately, there have been more incidents like this," the spokesperson wrote on the Telegram channel.

He announced that he will appeal to international organizations, specifically the UN and the Red Cross, to intervene.
