Russian woman's controversial marriage ends in divorce

This couldn't work out. A year ago, the media buzzed with news about a Russian woman who walked down the aisle with a man 30 years her junior. The real problem, however, was not the age difference. Danill was the adopted son of his newlywed bride.

Much has been said about love. It doesn't choose; it is blind. Love certainly is also the protagonist of many scandals. At one time, the story of Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim made headlines. Her husband turned out not only to be much younger than her but, in the eyes of the law, to be also her son.

Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim worked as a music teacher in one of the Russian orphanages. It was there she met 13-year-old Danill. After a year of acquaintance, she adopted the boy. They lived together for eight years. Interestingly (and shockingly), Danill did not fly out of the family nest after that time. Quite the opposite. He stayed in it in a new role—as Aisylu's husband. The couple was said to have fallen head over heels in love with each other.

The woman's family and neighbours did not accept their relationship. They were shocked not only by the over thirty-year age difference but, above all, by the fact that Aisylu had raised her husband for several years when he was still underage. However, the woman in question saw nothing wrong with it. As she insisted, they were the "perfect couple."

She asserted in interviews with local media that we can't live without each other. We are on the same wavelength.

Their marriage had more opponents than supporters, not only among their closest ones. Aisylu was deprived of custody of the remaining five children she had guardianship over. She explained at the time that the adopted children (a boy and four girls) had returned to their biological families.

To start anew away from hostile stares, Aisylu and Danill moved from the small town to Moscow. However, the relationship did not withstand the test of time. Twenty-two-year-old Danill was unfaithful to his wife. His weakness turned out to be dating apps.

The devastated teacher had no choice. She decided to file for divorce.

I was ashamed to admit it - she told the press later.

Danill himself remained silent and did not comment on the breakdown of his marriage to his adoptive mother.
