The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 24. In the photos published online, it can be seen that practically nothing is left of the front part of the Lada Niva car. As a result of the collision, Konstantin Lopatkin, a 73-year-old resident of Berezovka, died on the spot.
Tank crews "laughed in the face"
Witnesses of the incident claim that the tank crew "was insane and laughed in their faces." It is still unknown whether the soldiers were sober. The Lada driver was driving correctly when suddenly a Russian tank came out from around a turn and ran over the car.
The local newspaper describes that Konstantin was a farmer and also grew vegetables on his plot, which he sold at the market in Belgorod. "On the day of his death, he was returning home from the fair," it states.
This is already the second case of a tank colliding with a civilian vehicle in Belgorod Oblast within a month. At the beginning of July, in similar circumstances, drunk soldiers crushed the car of Graivoron resident Andrei Alexeyev.
The man died on the spot, and the tank crew tried to flee the scene. They were caught two miles away. The soldiers were detained. The examination confirmed they were drunk. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the tank crew. Earlier, the residents of Graivoron said that the tank had already been seen in the city and "ran over curbs."
