Russian strikes shatter Ukraine on Good Friday: Zelensky's plea

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the public following the Russian attack on Kharkiv. "This is how Russia began this Good Friday – with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, 'shaheeds' – mocking our people and our cities," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

On Friday, Russian rockets fell on Kharkiv. As a result of the strike, a residential skyscraper was hit, among others. Fifteen residential buildings were destroyed. The attacks were carried out using ballistic missiles with cluster ammunition, which affected vast areas, according to Ukrainian media reports.

"This is how Russia began this Good Friday – with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, 'shaheeds' – mocking our people and our cities," wrote the President of Ukraine.

Zelensky reported that dozens of homes, businesses, and cars were destroyed, and about 70 people were injured, including five children. The youngest, Valeria, was just 2 years old. One person died.

Another attack occurred in Sumy. "Russian strike drones. One of the targets was an ordinary bakery, a typical enterprise that has served the city for decades. Unfortunately, one person died as a result of this attack. I extend my condolences to all who lost their loved ones," Zelensky conveyed.

Russian attacks also took place in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions.

"Gratitude to each of our partners who help defend Ukraine. Every defense package matters, all air defense systems, an adequate number of missiles for air defense – all of this really helps," summed up the President of Ukraine.
