Russian soldiers sabotaging attack boats in Kherson standoff
A few days ago, Oleksandr Prokudin warned that the occupiers were planning an attack on Kherson. "Three hundred boats are ready to cross the Dnieper," he stated. It turns out that Russian soldiers are not eager to carry out the assault. According to the Atesh resistance movement, they are destroying the amassed boats to avoid participating in the attack.
Serhij Bratchuk, spokesperson for the "South" Detachment of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, commented on reports of the Russians gathering boats, stating that enemy forces would try to occupy islands on the Dnieper and approach the western bank of Kherson. He reminded me that they recently carried out a major attack on Kozatsky Island northeast of the city.
Such an attack across the river would undoubtedly result in significant losses for the Russian forces. It's no surprise that the Russian soldiers are taking steps to prevent it.
Russians are destroying boats themselves
"An agent of the Atesh movement in the Russian armed forces on the Dnieper section reports that there is a growing number of sabotage incidents carried out by Russian soldiers to avoid being sent to assault the islands in the Dnieper delta," the Atesh resistance movement reported on its channel.
Soldiers are damaging boat engines, puncturing pontoons, and even providing the Ukrainian side with data on the location of boats and fuel supplies.
"In the 126th Independent Coastal Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, three official investigations related to sabotage have been initiated," Atesh reported.
"We encourage all Russian military personnel to follow their example. Something as simple as damaging a boat can save you from certain death," read a post on the Atesh channel.
