The soldiers mock the personal lighting kits, or headlamps, distributed by the ministry at the start of the new year. The impractical accessories hardly stay put on either the head or helmet and turning them on presents a challenge. This depicts equipment that is far from helpful to soldiers on the front line.

Responding to the gifts, they recorded a video that satirically showcased the headlamps and their inadequacies. The soldiers' choice of words left no room for misinterpretation, and they freely ridiculed their leaders, who equipped them with such impractical gear for battle. Their proposed uses for the lights are not fit for polite discourse.

Seemingly, Vladimir Putin's army has taken an unexpected turn in the last two years. Stories have emerged that would have been unimaginable before the war in Ukraine. Russian soldiers are sent into battle with inadequate training and subpar equipment. Clad in disarray due to a lack of proper uniforms and armed with old and worn-out weapons, the soldiers also face ammunition shortages. This has resulted in massive daily losses on the Russian side.

But it's not all chaos: some heavy equipment has been captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Despite the prevailing disorder and poorly equipped soldiers, Russia does have some well-trained, well-equipped units that prove influential on the battlefield.
