Russian scientist arrested for treason, linked to Ukraine
Reuters reported on Tuesday that officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a scientist in Moscow. The man was accused of treason. The FSB did not release his name, but according to some media, Artiom Chorosziłow collaborated with Jagiellonian University.

Russian authorities accuse the detainee of conducting "distributed attacks on the computer systems of Russian critical infrastructure on behalf of Ukrainian security services". Chorosziłow was also allegedly transferring money to the Ukrainian military and gathering information about the Russian armed forces. According to the FSB, the suspect confessed to the crime.
Russian media published a video recording of the scientist's detention. The film shows the arrested man in a snowy city, suggesting that the detention took place a few months ago. According to the RIA agency, it occurred in December 2023.
Information about the detainee's identity appeared on Telegram. The Ostorozhno Novosti channel, which deals with Russian politics, wrote that it is Artiom Chorosziłow.
Russian physicist detained. He collaborated with Jagiellonian University
According to the ResearchGate service, Chorosziłow is a physicist working at the Russian Academy of Sciences. His main areas of scientific interest are superconductors, low-temperature physics, and magnetic properties.
Until mid-2023, he regularly published in scientific journals, including "Acta Physica Polonica," a title published by Jagiellonian University.
