Russian propagandists' fear exposed amidst stalled offensive
Russian propagandists are starting to react nervously to the lack of progress on the front lines of the war with Ukraine. In one program, they call for another attack on Kyiv and the capture of the Ukrainian capital in three days, only to later admit that they fear the Ukrainians. Propagandists unanimously claim that "war is Russia's only chance for survival."
Much of the information disseminated by Russian media and government representatives is likely untrue. Such reports may be part of an information war by the Russian Federation.
Propagandists working in Russian media are trying in various ways to justify the complicated situation on the front. For a long time, the Russian military has not made the progress expected by the Kremlin.
Russia is also in a difficult situation due to part of the country being occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukraine controls part of the Kursk region. This could serve as a bargaining chip in possible negotiations.
For propagandists, this state of affairs represents a big problem. Employees of Russian media and their guests are going out of their way to explain the army's situation. Hence, there are many contradictions in their narrative.
Russian propagandists talk about the army. They can't decide
On one hand, guests on the Rossiya 1 program indicate that Kyiv should be attacked and the Ukrainian capital captured in three days. Propagandists claim the army is ready for this. On the other hand, the Russians openly admit that they fear Ukrainians.
However, propagandists agree on one thing. In their opinion, Russia must fight to survive. They falsely accuse the Ukrainian armed forces of "lacking moral restraint" and wanting to kill all Russians.
What should we do? Fight to the end and fulfill SMO objectives. Because there's no other chance of survival. [Ukrainians] have no moral compass. They will kill to the last Russian - Russian propagandists lament.
The video was commented on by Anton Herashchenko, blogger and former deputy head of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs. He points out that Ukraine wants Russia and Russians to be held accountable, but plans to do so according to international law.
Ukraine wants, needs and deserves justice and peace. We want Russia and Russians to bear responsibility for their atrocious war crimes - in courts and through the legal system - the Ukrainian politician wrote, posting a video from Russian propaganda television.
