Russian 'Popeye' impersonator may face lengthy prison term

Several years ago, Kirill Tereshin, a controversial Russian figure, gained notoriety by injecting synthol into his biceps. This procedure, intended to give his muscles a grotesque size, almost cost him his life. Today, he is still a noteworthy figure, with the "Daily Star" reporting he could be facing a significant prison sentence for an unexpected reason.

Kirill Tereshin, a 27-year-old, attracted global attention a few years back. All due to a series of risky procedures he underwent to look like the cartoon character Popeye. The Russian began injecting synthol into his biceps when he was just 20, leading to a considerable increase in his muscle size.

There's no denying that the procedures Tereshin opted for made him look peculiar. Not only did he risk his life but his "synthetic muscles" even became life-threatening at one point.

Synthol can cause muscle distortion and fibrosis. In 2021, Tereshin underwent several procedures to remove hardened vaseline from his forearms. Despite the significant risk, curious Tereshin ventured into combat sports.

Things came to a head in the summer of 2021. During an MMA contest, his biceps burst, putting his health in grave danger. Following this incident, Tereshin decided to take a break from his "sports career".

Despite this, he continued sharing content on his social media channels. Recently, a video was posted to his Instagram in which Tereshin is seen dancing with voluptuously shaped women. It appears this video may result in some serious repercussions.

The "Daily Star" suggests Tereshin's lewd behavior in the video could violate Russian laws relating to LGBTQ individuals. Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption, is reported by Russian media to have intervened regarding the Instagram figure. The high-ranking official has reportedly contacted the Russian prosecutor's office regarding Tereshin's broadcast.

The "Daily Star" speculates that Tereshin could face up to a 13-year prison sentence. This would serve as an apt conclusion to the controversial "career" of the Russian social media figure. Throughout his years of activity on social media, Tereshin has drawn considerable criticism. The Internet would undoubtedly be much better off without his presence.
