"Ukraine unconditionally agreed to a ceasefire over a month ago. The heinous attacks on Kryvyi Rih and on Sumy are Russia's mocking answer. I hope that President Trump and the U.S. administration see that the leader of Russia is mocking their goodwill, and I hope the right decisions are taken," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski during a conversation with reporters in Brussels.

The Russians attacked Sumy with two ballistic missiles on Sunday morning. The Chief of Staff to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, reported that the missiles were equipped with cluster munitions. Thirty-four people were killed, and 117 were injured, including children.

In a video posted on social media, Volodymyr Zelensky offered condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. - A horrific Russian ballistic missile strike on Sumy. Russian missiles hit an ordinary city street, ordinary life – residential buildings, educational institutions, cars on the street… And that’s on the day when people go to church – Palm Sunday, the feast of the Lord's Entry into Jerusalem. According to preliminary information, dozens of civilians were killed and wounded. Only [terrible people - ed.] can act like this – taking the lives of ordinary people - Zelensky stated.

Donald Trump on the attack on Sumy

U.S. President Donald Trump also commented on the issue. "I think it was terrible. And I was told they made a mistake. But I think it’s a horrible thing. I think the whole war is a horrible thing. I think, for that war to have started, is an abuse of power," said Trump, emphasizing that if he were president, "this country (USA) would have never allowed that war to have started."

When asked to elaborate on his mention of a mistake by the Russians, the president simply replied that the Russians "made a mistake."
