Russia once again attacked civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. After the missile assault on the children's hospital in Kyiv, ten people died, and up to 35 were injured. The incident occurred on Monday evening when a Kh-101 missile hit the hospital building, causing severe damage and destruction.

According to the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), two staff members were killed, and 16 others, including seven children, were seriously injured. Four people, including three children, were rescued from the rubble. Unfortunately, the damage toll quickly turned tragic.

The TV station "Belsat" reports that one of the fatal victims was a young doctor, Svitlana Lukianchuk, from Lviv. In the Kyiv hospital, she worked as a pediatric nephrologist. The city's mayor announced her death. Her aunt raised Svitlana because she lost her parents at a young age. She will be buried next to them in the Holosivskyi cemetery.

Russia's brutal attack on Ukraine's children's hospital

According to the portal i.pl, after Russia attacked the hospital in the Ukrainian capital, the most affected departments were the pediatric oncology and the intensive care unit.

One of the heartbreaking photographs shows children with cancer who survived the shelling and were brought outside. Frightened, they sat under the remaining walls, receiving IV drips.

Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. One of the most important CHILDREN’S hospitals not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. Now that the hospital has been damaged by a Russian strike, there are people under the rubble, and the exact number of casualties is still unknown. Right now, everyone is helping to clear the rubble – doctors and ordinary people. Russia cannot claim ignorance of where its missiles are flying and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes. Against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this now, and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing - wrote the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on platform X.

International humanitarian organizations are calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities to allow medical aid and the evacuation of civilians from affected areas.
