Tragic toll of casualties after the attack on Sumy
The number of people affected by the Russian missile attack on the city of Sumy has risen to 99, including 11 children, informed the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS).
32 people were killed, including two children.
Russians attacked Sumy with two ballistic missiles on Sunday. The head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, Andriy Yermak, informed that they were equipped with cluster munitions.
NATO on the attack on Sumy
NATO spokeswoman Allison Hart responded to the attack. "Horrific scenes from the center of Sumy where Russian ballistic missiles killed dozens and severely injured many more ordinary civilians. Our thoughts are with the Ukrainian people on what is a sacred day for so many," she wrote on platform X.
Poland, among many countries, condemned Russia's barbaric missile strike on Sumy.
"The attack on civilians on Palm Sunday shows that Russia's goal is not peace," the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized on platform X on Sunday.
