Russian-enforced zone in Kherson demands special permits

In the occupied territories of the Kherson region, the Russians have created a 9-mile zone along the Dnieper River and prohibited entry into it. Earlier, residents were relocated from this area. To enter this area, a special permit is required.

According to information from the Ukrainian National Resistance Center (NRC), the "forbidden zone" will take effect on August 1 in the Kakhovka region and, by the beginning of September, cover the entire left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.

The specially designated area coincides with the territory that Russia has occupied for several months. "The order was published in the name of Vladimir Saldo, the local Russian puppet governor," writes the NRC.

The Russians have deported residents. special permits are required

The organization reported that according to the content of the published order, entry to this zone is possible only with a "special permit" from the Russians.

The National Resistance Center also notes that the Russians had previously deported the local population from most of the occupied settlements in the designated zone. The prohibited area is about 9 miles.

Ukrainian media admit that at this moment—based on information coming from the occupied regions—they are unable to assess why the Russians decided to take such a step.
