Downing of A-50
The Russian A-50 early warning aircraft was shot down under mysterious circumstances in the Krasnodar Territory, located in southern Russia.
On Friday evening, Ukrainian Air Forces Commander, General Mykola Oleszczuk, confirmed the downing of the Russian A-50 aircraft, used primarily for long-range radar detection. He suggested that the operation was executed with the help of Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR).
Earlier, Ukrainians had reported the downing of an A-50 in mid-January. That plane crashed into the Sea of Azov, though Russia never confirmed the loss of the aircraft.
