Russian drones breach Romanian airspace in night assault
The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported that two Russian drones violated its airspace during a nighttime attack by Russia on Ukraine. One of the drones likely crashed, and a search for its remains is currently underway.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense clarified that the airspace violation involved two Russian drones. According to Polsat News, one of the drones was probably destroyed, prompting authorities to search for its debris.
Nighttime attacks on Ukraine
This incident occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday, when Russian missiles targeted several Ukrainian regions, including Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia. As a result of the attacks, emergency power outages were reported throughout Ukraine.
Around the same time, the Polish army had to respond to an airspace violation by a Russian Su-24MR aircraft over the Gulf of Gdańsk.
The aircraft penetrated to a depth of approximately 4 miles and remained there for 1 minute and 12 seconds. The cause of the violation was attributed to a failure in the Russian aircraft's navigation system.
