In Ukraine, evidence of striking inhumanity from Russian forces continues to surface. One recent video from the frontline distinctly highlights the cruel treatment meted out to Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered during combat, showcasing a disturbing lack of discrimination between civilians and military personnel.

The conflict in Ukraine has been raging for nearly two years, with neither side able to achieve a definitive victory. Russian forces are making attempts to seize territories around Avdiivka, to which Ukrainian forces are countering aggressively.

Throughout the ongoing conflict, the Russians have exhibited a shocking level of brutality in places such as Irpin, Bucha, and Mariupol, where civilians have been mercilessly targeted. Russia's apparent disregard for human rights not only extends to Ukrainian civilians, but also to their soldiers.

Highlighting Russian ruthlessness towards Ukrainians

The Geneva Convention mandates the humane treatment of prisoners of war. Theoretically, surrendering Ukrainians detained by Russians should be evacuated from the vicinity of battlefronts to camps, where they would receive necessary medical care.

Nexta recently released footage revealing a vastly different reality. It showed Ukrainian soldiers surrendering with their hands raised, only to be shot down ruthlessly by Russian forces. Maria Drutska reported via the platform X (previously known as Twitter) that these soldiers hailed from the 45th separate rifle battalion and the incident took place near the village of Stepove, close to Avdiivka. Caution: The following footage is graphic.

The savage actions committed by Russian forces are escalating alarmingly. Disturbingly, Putin's army reportedly includes criminals, such as murderers and rapists, among their recruits. As can be seen from the aforementioned video, war is a phenomenon that unleashes humanity's darkest and most reprehensible instincts.
