In its most recent report, the American think tank ISW announced the occupation of Krochmalne by Russian forces. As per the information, Russian military units have been moving along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine.

The Russian online community had previously reported these movements, often dubbed "military bloggers" due to their strong connections with the Kremlin. They reported that Ukrainian armed forces had withdrawn from positions close to Krochmalne.

Frontline Information

An analysis of geolocation footage dated January 20, utilized by the ISW report, proposes that Russian forces have shifted their positions slightly east of Ivanivka, approximately 12.43 miles southeast of Kupiansk. The footage suggests that Russian military units have also secured a small region east of the village of Zolotaryivka.

Russian and Ukrainian forces have confirmed ongoing positional battles northeast of Kupiansk, around the villages of Synkivka and Petropavlivka. Clashes also occur southeast of Kupiansk, near Tabajiwka, northwest of Svatove, close to Berestove, and west, southwest, and south of Kreminna.

Reports of Russian forces advancing towards Kupiansk and Lyman are also surfacing.
