Russia will develop a military response to the planned deployment of American long-range missiles in Germany, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday, as quoted by state media.

Many of the reports provided by Russian media or government representatives are propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, the decision to deploy missiles in Germany aims to harm Russia's security.

The White House announced on Wednesday that the United States will begin deploying long-range missiles, including hypersonic missiles, SM-6 missiles, and Tomahawk missiles, in Germany in 2026. According to the United States, this demonstrates their commitment to NATO and contribution to Europe's "integrated deterrence."

SM-6 is a standard missile used, among other things, as part of the Aegis air and missile defense system, while Tomahawk is a cruise missile with a range of up to 1,550 miles.

Wednesday's announcement implements White House representatives' promises before the NATO summit about a "significant strengthening of the deterrence factor" against Russia in Europe. It will also be the first deployment of American missiles of such range since the Russian invasion. It is also a response to Russia's deployment of Iskander missiles in Belarus and the Kaliningrad region.
