Shoigu also stated that Russia "dispelled the myth of the superiority of Western weapons" and that its forces had taken the initiative on the front for about 621 miles.
The Minister was referencing the Saturday vote in the American House of Representatives. The United States gave Ukraine a new military aid package worth nearly 61 billion dollars following this vote.
Reuters reported that the package will include ATACMS long-range missile systems, ammunition, and missiles intended for air defense systems.
CNN: American aid already in warehouses in Germany and Poland
"In proportion to the threats posed by the United States and its allies, we will continue to improve the composition and structure of the Armed Forces and increase the production of the most popular weapons and military equipment," Shoigu announced.
Meanwhile, CNN, citing its sources, reports that most of the weapons from the U.S. aid package intended for Ukraine are already in warehouses in Germany and Poland. This aims to shorten the time required for their delivery to the front line.
According to CNN's source, artillery shells will be among the first items delivered to Ukraine, starting immediately after President Joe Biden signs the act providing aid to Ukraine by the USA.
