Russia trains mercenaries from Cuba, Africa, and North Korea
Agents of the Ukrainian partisan movement ATESH have discovered that in the Sevastopol area, Russians are training mercenaries from African countries and Cuba.
The ATESH unit reported the discovery on Telegram. According to the report, the training takes place at a training ground belonging to the 810th Marine Brigade.
Military trucks have been seen in the area, transporting individuals who appear unusual to local residents.
"Moreover, on the same training ground, shooting exercises for teenagers take place from time to time. The Russians use children as human shields, trying to protect their army and mercenaries from attacks," ATESH reports.
Mercenaries from North Korea
In addition to mercenaries from African countries and Cuba, Russia is also training soldiers from North Korea as part of the 810th Marine Brigade.
The information about the first clashes between Ukrainian troops and North Korean soldiers was confirmed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov. In a published interview for the South Korean broadcaster KBS, he stated that a "small-scale" clash occurred, though he refrained from providing details regarding the time and location of the skirmish.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, remarked that the "First battles with North Korean soldiers open a new page of instability in world." However, he did not disclose any specifics about the fighting.
At the end of October, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin reported that 10,000 soldiers from North Korea are stationed in Russia, including 8,000 in the Kursk region, where Ukraine launched an offensive in August this year. According to Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR), there are already 11,000 North Koreans in the Kursk region.
