Recent hours of battle have seen an unusual increase in the activity of the Russian army on the front. Approximately 80 skirmishes have been spotted. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their positions and strategizing to outwit the forces in the south. Here, on the left bank of the Dnieper, a bridgehead is under construction which can potentially enable a powerful assault on occupied Crimea.

The latest day of the Ukraine war spotlighted a significant Russian offensive on the front. Occupying forces have launched attacks in seven directions along the frontline in the past day, spanning from the village of Robotyne in the south to Kupyansk in the northeast, according to the morning report from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Records show about 80 skirmishes with Russian troops, alongside four major Russian rocket attacks, 53 airstrikes, and 45 attacks using multiple rocket launch systems, targeting both civil and military entities. Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled these attacks and are holding the front line, although the situation remains dynamic.

Russia's aim is to secure some battlefield victories before winter.

Reports from the Ukrainian army indicate that Russia has also executed artillery attacks on over 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. Bombing civilian targets is a common tactic of Moscow, intended to squash the resilience of the Ukrainian people.

But Ukraine continues bravely battling to oust the aggressor from its lands.

Ukrainian defenses have repelled seven attacks towards Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russia had attempted a major counteroffensive here in the fall, which ended in their forces being entangled and defeated by the Ukrainians. Currently, the aggressor is "testing" the front, searching for vulnerabilities where they could deploy substantial forces.

Strong countermeasures near Lyman, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka repelled six, fifteen, and eighteen Russian attacks, respectively, while 24 were thwarted near Mariinka and a few others in the Donetsk region. The last day has been fraught with unrest, with the stalwart resistance of Kyiv matching the heightened activity from the Russians.

Four unsuccessful assaults by the Russian forces around the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region were also reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Here, the tides turned in favor of the Ukrainians who made a breakthrough in the Russian lines, marking one of the greatest victories of their summer counteroffensive. However, the front has since stilled, with the Russians able to retain their second line of defense.

In Melitopol, the Ukrainian forces were on the offensive. Despite Russian occupation since spring 2022, resistance in the form of guerrilla warfare continues to challenge and disrupt enemy operations on the broadest possible scale.

Interestingly, the Ukrainians have made headway in the Kherson region, crossing over to the left bank of the Dnieper and establishing a bridgehead near the village of Krynki. This is the intended launch point for a strike heading south, towards the Azov Sea and Crimea. Meanwhile, intensive Russian assaults are happening in Avdiivka, to the north of Donetsk. Despite incurring heavy losses of about 10,000 soldiers and hundreds of armored vehicles, the Russians press on.

The "meat grinder", a term used to describe the tactics of the Russian generals, is in full swing.
