Russia labels US base in Poland a nuclear threat provocateur
Russia claims that the American base in Redzikowo leads to "an increase in the level of nuclear threat" and is a "provocative move by Washington," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a press conference. She emphasized that the base is on the "priority list of potential targets for destruction."

Much of the information provided by Russian media or government representatives is part of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
On Wednesday, November 13, the Aegis base was opened in Redzikowo. It is a U.S. Navy military structure under the command of EUCOM, NATO's command in Europe. Its task is to shield the borders of the alliance's territory from air attacks originating outside the Euro-Atlantic area.
Russians threaten: "On the target list"
The launch of the facility angered the Russians. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called it a "provocative step" by the Americans.
She stated it "objectively leads to undermining strategic stability and, combined with other harmful military-political and military-technical measures, aims to expand American power beyond borders to exert strong pressure on Russia and other nuclear powers."
She further mentioned that this action "leads to an increase in strategic risk and, consequently, to an increase in the overall level of nuclear threat."
Considering the level of threats posed by such Western military facilities, Zakharova asserted that the missile defense base in Poland has long been on the list of priority targets for potential destruction, for which, if necessary, a wide range of the latest weapons can be employed.
Construction of the base in Redzikowo began in 2016. The facility was put into operation in December 2023, and by July 2024, the complex's full operational readiness was announced. The base's official opening took place on November 13.
