According to Meduza, Redut, a private military company controlled by the Russian Ministry of Defense, has announced the recruitment of women for combat specialization in the Borz volunteer battalion, which was supposed to be sent to war in Ukraine.
The portal describes this based on recruitment announcements on the Russian VKontakte site.
Contractors are offered a six-month contract with a salary starting at 220 thousand rubles (just under $1200). If the candidates for the army do not have the ability to use weapons, a month of preparations and training in Donetsk is provided for them.
Over 600 days of war
Tuesday marks the 608th day of Russia's war against Ukraine. The EU foreign ministers did not reach an agreement in Luxembourg on Monday regarding the increase of the fund for arming Ukraine by an additional $577 million to over $4.6 billion. Unofficial information suggests that this is due to Hungary's opposition, and a unanimous decision is required.
