Massive data leak in Russia. 140 million Russian mobile phone numbers and 46 million email addresses have leaked online.

According to Polsat News, the data pertains to the first half of 2024. The leak has affected almost every Russian resident.

The Russian newspaper "Izvestia" claims that nearly 150 separate data leaks were recorded from January to June. Authorities claim they have the situation under control, but statistics do not confirm this.

The Russian communications, information technology, and mass media regulatory authority, Roskomnadzor, states that 2024 there were fewer data leak incidents than in 2023. However, as the Kyiv Post mentions, the authority emphasizes that it still means "data concerning nearly every Russian citizen are now publicly available."

Russia has a problem

This is not the only problem for Russians. The head of the Central Bank of Russia presented a grim picture of the Russian economy. She assessed that the reserves of the Russian economy's labor force and production capacities are practically exhausted.

Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, admitted at a press conference that the Russian economy had reached a level of overheating unseen in 16 years.

As reported by belsat.eu, the Russian economist painted a bleak picture of the Russian economy. Russian GDP is growing by 5%, but mainly due to the injection of ruble trillions into defense production. The Russian labor market lacks workers, partly because hundreds of thousands of workers have been sent to the front.
